Arts Vesuviana

Over the past seven years, Arts Vesuviana has developed into a world-renowned institution in the heart of a world-class town.  Being situated in one of Italy's most historic and dynamic towns presents students, faculty and staff with the prospects of a vast array of cultural, academic and musical offerings.  This camp offers a unique two-week international summer music and arts program for student instrumentalists, vocalists and artists of high school age rich in cultural experiences.

Perhaps the essence of Arts Vesuviana is its unique schedule, which is arranged to provide a good balance between learning (musically, artistically and culturally), socializing and local immersion.  It is flexible in order to help students who need more time while challenging those who are more advanced.  Resoundingly students comment after the trip about how they felt a part of a large family that learned and experienced together in an atmosphere of support, encouragement and total FUN!

Location

The camp is held at the stunning Fondazione Passarelli Institute, in the beautiful town of San Marco di Castellabate, Salerno, Cilento Coast, Italy.  Located in the heart of the Cilento National Park, a classified World Heritage site, San Marco di Castellabate offers the charm of a genuine small fishing village.  It is the perfect location for artistic inspiration and expression!

The Institute operates a fully functioning academic and residential facility for the pursuit of cultural studies.  The complex includes a hotel, dining hall, auditoriums, classrooms, practice rooms, a private beach, tennis courts, swimming pool, volleyball and soccer fields.

Lodging

The triple bedrooms at the Fondazione Passarelli are spacious with private bathrooms.

Meals

What would a camp in Italy be without amazing, locally inspired cuisine?  Campers are treated to a culinary extravaganza!  Three course (90% organic) meals are homemade, sourced from the freshest local meats, fish and vegetables, often from the gardens outside the doors of the Institute and from the local open market.  Irresistible homemade cakes and pastries.  Campers will dine on traditional, local Italian fare cooked exclusively by local chefs and served in the Institute's dining hall.

While we are dedicated to maintaining our campus as a safe, secure and welcoming place to live and learn, a truly safe environment can only be achieved with everyone's active participation in the process.  We know that our internal community education and awareness efforts make a significant difference in providing a broad range of security and comfort for our community.
